The Float

Sorry if my birthday posts are getting tiring. Just wanted to share one more event that touched me to tears.

Our 6 children invited our whole clan to a top class restaurant run by our friends, as my 80th birthday present. The thing that really touched me was that for the desert the kids had made a special order to the cook for a "coke float" in honor of my dad.

Brought back some beautiful very clear memories of my dad standing at a kitchen counter with a spoon, slowly pouring coke into a glass with ice-cream ... just to help us have a simple pleasant evening together.

He's been gone 18 years now.
